絶滅危惧種のシマカコソウの花　Endangered species Shimakakosou (Ajuga boninsimae) flower

小笠原諸島の父島、母島、妹島に分布する多年生草本の固有種で個体数が非常に少なく、平成2０年（2008年）に「絶滅の恐れのある野生動植物の種の保存に関する法律（種の保存法）」により「国内希少野生動植物種」に指定されています。
個体数の減少はノヤギの食害、外植物の侵入による圧迫、台風による自生地の崩落などに影響を受けています。
自然状態で安定的に存続できることを目標に農林水産省、国土交通省、環境省により平成21年（2009年）に「保護増殖事業計画」が策定されました。

Shimakakosou (Ajuga boninsimae) is an endemic species of perennial herb that is distributed on Chichi-jima island, Haha-jima island and Imouto-jima island of the Bonin (Ogasawara) Islands. It is protected and designated as a “National Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora” by the Law for the Conservation of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora issued in 2008. The decline in population is affected by predation damage by wild goats, pressure from intrusion of alien plants and collapse of natural habitats due to typhoons.
And “conservation and breeding business plan” was formulated in 2009 by Ministry of Agriculture,Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Land,Infrastructure,Transport and Tourism and Ministry of the Environment in 2009.
