絶滅危惧種で固有種のシマウツボ endangered endemic “Shima-utsubo（Orobanche boninsimae)”

原色の少ない小笠原の森の中で、ひときわ目立つ鮮やかな黄色のシマウツボはオガサワラビロウやヤロード、シロテツなどの木本の根に寄生し養分を吸収しているため光合成をしない植物です。
シマウツボは父島と母島のみに分布する固有種で、環境省レッドリストでは最上位の「ごく近い将来における野生での絶滅の危険性が極めて高いもの（絶滅危惧ⅠA類／CR）」として記載され絶滅が危惧されています。

The bright yellow “Shima-utsubo（Orobanche boninsimae)” which stand out prominently in the forest that doesn’t have much brilliant color of the Bonin Islands.
Shima-utsubo（Orobanche boninsimae） does not photosynthesize because it is parasitic on the roots of another trees such as Ogasawara-biro（Livistona boninensis）, Yaroud（Neisosperma nakaianum）and Shirotetsu（Boninia glabra Planchon） and absorbs nutrients.
“Shima-utsubo（Orobanche boninsimae)” is an endemic to Chichi-jima Island and Haha-jima Island and is in an extinction crisis which is ranked at the top of the Red List of the Ministry of the Environment as "an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild in the very near future (CR／Critically Endangered).”
